The Hus-Keys are an a cappella group that was originally founded at UConn Hartford in 2016 by Angelica Ellis, making it the first a cappella group for Hartford commuter students. It is now based at the Storrs campus after joining the UConn A Cappella Association in 2022.
Members are encouraged to develop their passion and musical talent by learning and performing a cappella arrangements of popular music as an ensemble. As a group, we strive to embrace diversity. We accept students from all walks of life regardless of one's campus, race, gender, age, sexuality, or ability.
Funds raised from UConn Ignite will go toward funding the group's musical endeavors, such as the recording and producing of music, the filming of music videos, the renting of concert spaces, and the purchasing of a cappella arrangements for the group to perform. Funds will also go toward the group's activities such as group merchandise, travel to gigs and performances off campus, group bonding trips, and photoshoots. Any additional funds will be used for the general activities of the group.
