Sanskriti is UConn’s only organization dedicated to promoting, preserving, and cultivating Indian classical arts. We celebrate classical Indian dance forms like Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi, Odissi, and Kathak, as well as music styles like Carnatic and Hindustani.
Your support helps us create more opportunities for performances, cultural events, and workshops. A major focus is Utsav, our biggest intercollegiate showcase, where teams from all different states come together to celebrate Indian performing arts. Since it's entirely student-run, donations help cover venue costs, sound equipment, costumes, food, and more.
Our new competitive dance team is also representing UConn at intercollegiate competitions, sharing classical Indian dance on a bigger stage. Funding helps with travel, registration, and costumes so we can compete at our best.
Beyond competitions and events, we use funds for traditional attire, musical instruments, and other resources to keep our performances at the highest level. Through workshops, performances, and cultural programs, we’re building an inclusive space where people of all backgrounds can experience and appreciate Indian classical arts.
Any additional funds will be used for the general activities of the group. Thank you for helping us keep these traditions alive!
