The Latine Law Students Association is a student organization dedicated to promoting the development and celebrating the culture of Latine law students at UConn Law.
To pursue our mission, LLSA hosts a number of events throughout the school year. These events have a variety of purposes, including promoting Latine culture on campus, expanding our professional network, and furthering the academic development of our members. This semester, LLSA is hosting the following events:
- Hispanic Heritage Month Kickoff
- Sobremesa: LLSA's Annual Diversity Networking Event
- Immigration Law Practitioner Panel
- Affinity Friendsgiving Celebration
LLSA is also passionate about giving back to our local community. We do this through our Tutor the Future volunteer tutoring program and through our Winter Clothes Drive.
This year, LLSA is participating in Ignite so that we can send two of our members to the 32nd HNBA/VIA Uvaldo Herrera National Moot Court Competition in Houston, TX. This competition serves as a fantastic opportunity for our organization, enabling members to further their academic development through participation in the competition while connecting with Latine law students and practitioners from across the country. Funds collected this year will go to the registration fee required to participate in the competition. Any additional funds will be used for the general activities of UConn student-led organizations.
