A Completely Different Note is UConn’s oldest and finest lower-voice (TTBB) a cappella group. CDN strives to push the boundaries of vocal music and performance by consistently exploring a genre-bending repertoire and bringing our audiences the finest singing and entertainment that UConn has to offer! We love to perform both on and off campus, from inspiring elementary schoolers to get involved with singing to participating in benefit concerts to help raise money for charity events. With over 25 years of history and tradition under our belt, CDN is much more than collegiate a cappella. We’re a tight-knit, rambunctious family that has long been a cornerstone of life at the University of Connecticut.
In the fall semester of 2024, we released our sixth studio album, Noteworthy, celebrated our 25th anniversary with our alumni, collaborated with other singing groups across Connecticut, and much more! CDN is going strong and has no plans to stop.
Funds raised during this Ignite competition will allow CDN to go on our next tour, where we’ll share our love of singing across states and meet up and collaborate with more of the country’s amazing vocal groups! The tour will be a great opportunity for our members to bond, challenge themselves, and grow as performers, while also positively impacting the future success and longevity of the group. Any additional funds will be used for the general activities of UConn student-led organizations.
