Active Minds is a student-run mental health awareness and advocacy organization at the University of Connecticut chartered by the national organization, Active Minds, Inc. It utilizes peer outreach to increase students’ awareness of mental health and symptoms of mental health disorders, encourage students to seek help as soon as help is needed, provide information about available resources both on and off campus, and to serve as a liaison between students and said resources. By promoting awareness, advocacy, and education, the group aims to reduce the stigma surrounding mental health and create an open environment for discussion. We host events such as, writing positive messages in chalk, awareness campaigns, and interactive advocacy activities with the student body of UConn.
Any additional funds will be used for the general activities of UConn student-led organizations.
