About

Extreme Measures is UConn's premier gender-inclusive A Cappella group. “ExM” was formed in 2004 by Andre Santiago and Tim Russell, a couple of guys with a love for music. Having performed at various universities, high school workshops, and other events across North America, ExM prides themselves on having an expansive taste in music, complex in-house arrangements, a passion for performing with high vocal energy, and has grown into a professional group of talented individuals who share the same love for music as their founders. ExM has recorded three full length albums, an EP, and multiple singles, appearing on "Voices Only" 2024, 2022, and 2021. Additionally, ExM was featured on the Recorded A Cappella Review Board's "2024 Tracks of the Year" list, and was a 2025 CARA Award Nominee for "Best R&B Song".

The group currently finished recording their most recent album, which is being released later this year with the lead single, Late Nights and Heartbreak, currently available on Spotify and Apple Music! Last spring the group planned their first ever Charity Benefit concert for The Children’s Music Fund which raised over $800 and they are currently planning their second one for November 8th! The group also performs at a variety of events across the New England area, from singing in senior centers, to opening for professional a cappella groups, to teaching vocal workshops at high schools, Extreme Measures is committed to contributing to the local community and beyond through their music and ever evolving repertoire. The group is currently scheduled and planning to continue to perform annually at similar venues, and is continuing to perform and travel to new spaces. The group is planning the first group tour in two years to Washington DC this spring to perform with a variety of college and professional groups in the area, as well as in new performing spaces! They also are planning to record two more singles to be released in 2027!

Since many performances are far away and take most of the day members often have to cover gas and food costs for the day out of pocket, which can be a financial strain on students who already give a lot of time to the group they are so passionate about.

Donations will allow the group to fund more recording and creative projects, fund transportation to and from performances, and fund costs associated with the groups charity concerts. Please support this amazing group that is a family is rooted in musicianship and building community through it!

Any additional funds will be used for the general activities of UConn student-led organizations
