UConn Choirs

UConn Choirs welcome all singers to be a part of the exciting choral singing and learning happening at the University of Connecticut. We are dedicated to creating choral music at the highest level, exploring music in a thoughtful way from all backgrounds and cultures, and empowering you to become a dynamic and creative musician through an active rehearsal process and exciting performances on and off campus. There are choirs for all singers, from singers who are aspiring music professionals to those of you who just love to sing and would like to start here at UConn. Throughout the year, we have many performances that bring the community together, including our annual master work performance. This year we will be performing Beethoven's 9th Symphony, bringing together UConn choirs and orchestra, and UConn alumni and community members of Storrs to perform together. We also offer our members wonderful performance opportunities. Our Collegium Musicum has just performed in New York at Columbia University and has already been invited back for next year. Last year a group of our singers traveled to New York and got to sing in Carnegie Hall, our Chamber Singers performed with Grammy Award winner Jacob Collier, and this year will perform with Grammy nominated choral group, VOCES8. While we love to sing, we also offer many events throughout the year, including group apple picking and Choir Thanksgiving in the Fall Semester, as well as Choir Banquet and Field Day in the Spring. Our goal with Ignite is to raise money so that we are able to support our members, continue to host these events and traditions, and share our art. There are lots of things we need funds for that all of these events require. The cost of sheet music, concert dress, food/snacks, etc. Donations directly benefit our singers and all that we do throughout the year.

Any additional funds will be used for the general activities of the group.
