Art of the Roll

Art of the Roll isn’t just about breaking a world record—it’s about making history together. 🎲✨ As the first project of its kind at a UConn regional campus, we’re setting a new standard for creativity, collaboration, and ambition. Our mission is to expand art programming at UConn Stamford, strengthen community engagement in the heart of Stamford, and bring home a memorable triumph for UConn.

UConn Stamford, as a regional campus, often finds itself with fewer resources for art programming. It can feel like a struggle to nurture creativity in an environment where every penny counts. But even in the face of these limitations, we are determined to rise. Art of the Roll is proof that passion, heart, and determination can overcome any obstacle. Despite the odds, we are bringing our vision to life and showing that even small campuses can dream big.

We’re aiming to shatter the world record for the largest dice mosaic, using over 200,000 dice to create a breathtaking 30-square-meter masterpiece. The design? A tribute to UConn’s student body—something meaningful, inspiring, and uniquely Husky. But this isn’t just about the final piece—it’s about the student effort behind it. We’re highlighting the talent, dedication, and teamwork of our community by offering volunteer opportunities in both the building process and the assembly of this behemoth artwork.

This project is proudly led by members of Husky Art Pack, UConn Stamford’s art club, whose goal is to make creativity more accessible on campus. Our featured local Stamford artist and creative lead, Design With Dice by Johnny Face Off, is helping make this piece happen alongside the contribution of our students.

Funds raised will go toward purchasing the dice for the mosaic, authenticating the record through Guinness World Records using their official record kit, and framing the piece so it remains an everlasting symbol of our achievement. Additional funds will also support future art programming and club activities, ensuring that creativity continues to thrive at UConn Stamford long after this record-breaking mosaic is complete.
