Gifts to From Classroom to Courtroom: Support Our Jessup Team! contribute to...
The Phillip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition, often referred to as Jessup, is the world’s largest and most prestigious moot court competition, focusing on international law. Established in 1960, Jessup simulates a fictional dispute between nations before the International Court of Justice, the judicial organ of the United Nations.
Each year, law students from over 700 law schools in nearly 100 countries compete, honing their advocacy skills by presenting oral and written arguments on complex, real-world legal issues. For many participants, Jessup offers an unparalleled opportunity to develop legal expertise, gain international exposure, and engage with future leaders in the legal field.
Through supporting our students’ journey to Jessup, you will help boost UConn Law’s global and industry reputation, enhance practical legal education, build a skilled student body, and improve career prospects for students. Participation in Jessup showcases a law school's commitment to legal excellence on a global stage. Success in the competition enhances the school’s standing among prestigious legal institutions worldwide. Participation also connects the law school to law firms, international organizations, and government institutions that recognize the value of moot court competitions, often leading to job offers or internships for students.
Gifts to this campaign will support the efforts of the Connecticut Alliance of International Lawyers. Any additional funds will be used for the general activities of the group.
