Gifts to UConn Law Jewish Law Students Association contribute to...
The Jewish Law Students' Association (JLSA) is a vibrant student organization at UConn Law, dedicated to fostering a supportive community for Jewish law students and promoting cultural, educational, and social engagement within the legal field. Our mission is to create a welcoming environment where students can explore their Jewish identity while navigating the challenges of law school.
Through a variety of events and programs, JLSA provides opportunities for networking, professional development, and community service. We host guest speakers, panel discussions, and workshops focusing on legal issues that intersect with Jewish values and traditions. Our social events, such as Shabbat dinners, holiday celebrations, and cultural outings, help strengthen connections among members and with the broader law school community, as well as with the greater Hartford and Connecticut Jewish communities.
JLSA also engages in advocacy and outreach, working to raise awareness about important social justice issues and supporting initiatives that reflect our commitment to tikkun olam (repairing the world). We hope to collaborate with other student organizations to promote inclusivity and diversity within the legal profession.
Whether you are looking to connect with fellow students, enhance your legal education, or explore your Jewish heritage, JLSA welcomes all law students interested in enriching their academic and personal journeys. With your donation, you will help JLSA build a vibrant community that celebrates our shared values. Any money collected will be used to fund networking or holiday celebration events. Additional funds will be used for the general activities of the group.
Please reach out to our President, Meghan Costigan (meghan.costigan@uconn.edu), with any questions about JLSA!
Thank you kindly,
The JLSA E-Board.
