The Academic Center for Exploratory Students (ACES) is UConn's academic advising center that supports students in finding majors that are personally fulfilling and align to their career goals, by encouraging intentional exploration and experiential learning.
We support students who are genuinely exploratory, students applying into application-based majors, and students who change academic directions during their undergraduate career. We are an office dedicated to exploration, student retention and support. Many students connect with our office during challenging and confusing moments - we help them make sense of these moments, and find direction again!
ACES' advising and programming works to ensure all students can declare majors with confidence, but your support is needed to strengthen ACES’ programming so more students can have experiences that promote their personal growth and academic exploration.
The money raised during UConn Gives will directly benefit ACES’ 1-credit courses, The Major Experience, and our campus-wide programming that promote self, major, and career exploration (such as Major Exploration Fairs and Exploration Workshops). Your support is needed to make these offerings more engaging and impactful for students.
Thank you for your support!
More Information about ACES' Exploration Courses:
ACES advisors instruct one-credit courses that provide a tight-knit setting where students are encouraged to explore themselves, major options, and career interests. These courses are available to ACES and non-ACES students, and your donation to ACES will support robust workshops and programming for our courses.
More Information about The Major Experience (TME):
The Major Experience (TME) is UConn’s premier resource for major exploration, run by ACES in collaboration with academic departments and the Center for Career Readiness and Life Skills. The TME website is heavily trafficked by UConn students, and TME coordinates many in-person events throughout the year, such as Mentor Panels, class presentations, and Major Exploration Fairs. Your donation to ACES will support TME, TME Mentors, and associated programming on campus.
The UConn Foundation (EIN 06-6070722) is an independent, not-for-profit, tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization that exists to support the educational, scientific, cultural, research, and recreational objectives of the University of Connecticut.
