The Dramatic Arts Department incubates the most exciting theatre artists, designers, performers, managers, and leaders of the next generation. Combining professional expertise with academic rigor, our undergraduate and graduate programs support students making the most of their talents and preparing for the future they dream of.
The Hewitt Fund for Dramatic Arts enables us to enhance students’ experience by connecting them with globally prominent designers, directors, puppet artists, and other theatre professionals through on-campus workshops and intensives, virtual guest lectures, and key entrepreneurial and business training.
The exceptional artists and teachers supported recently by the Hewitt Fund include national arts manager Shorey Walker, international voice expert Barbara Houseman, and prominent casting director Jeffrey Dreisbach. Thanks to their contributions, our students graduate ready to launch their careers as entrepreneurial startups in Connecticut and beyond.
The UConn Foundation (EIN 06-6070722) is an independent, not-for-profit, tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization that exists to support the educational, scientific, cultural, research, and recreational objectives of the University of Connecticut.
