Empower Students. Expand Opportunity. Build Connections.
The Bryan K. and Alice M. Pollard Scholarship
This fund is dedicated to enhancing student success by investing in opportunities that foster academic achievement, professional growth, and meaningful connections. The scholarship is granted to undergraduate students pursuing an education in political science, mathematics, technology, or science and supports:
- Mentoring and networking programs that connect students with alumni and professionals
- Scholarships and financial assistance for students within the College
- Enrichment programming, including lectures, events, and initiatives that elevate learning beyond the classroom
These efforts ensure that all students, regardless of background, have access to the resources and opportunities they need to thrive.
Featured Program: The Bryan and Alice Pollard Mentoring & Networking Night
In partnership with the Pollards, the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences proudly hosts The Bryan and Alice Pollard Mentoring & Networking Night every year. This powerful in-person event is held on the Storrs campus and designed to inspire, connect, and uplift students.
This program is especially meaningful for students who have encountered socioeconomic, educational, or other life challenges. It creates a welcoming space where any UConn student can:
- Engage directly with CLAS alumni across a wide range of industries
- Hear firsthand stories of perseverance, growth, and career success
- Participate in small-group, roundtable discussions
- Build authentic connections during open networking sessions
Why It Matters
For many students, access to professional networks and mentorship can be life-changing. Scholarships and programs like the Pollard Mentoring & Networking Night break down barriers and opens doors to guidance, confidence, and pathways that might otherwise feel out of reach.
