The University of Connecticut Ski Team has a rich and storied history which began in 1970’s with both a men’s and women’s team. The team is currently coached by Jeff Lagasse. Coach Lagasse is a former Husky ski team member graduating in 2009 and he has been coaching since graduating. Jeff has seen the team develop from a truly student run club team without a coach in 2007-2008 and no postseason berths, all the way to the highest level of competition in the USCSA with the team’s routine presence at nationals. Throughout his time here he has been an integral part of developing and creating a good environment to breed success here at UConn as ski racers, but also helping shape successful young adults ready to take on the real world after college.
The University of Connecticut Ski Team is a club team and is funded by the UCONN Club Sports Council and the Undergraduate Student Government. The team is also supported extensively by an extended Alumni base, family and friends through donations of their time and money. Funding training space, lodging, practices, and races requires a lot of time, energy and money from our athletes. Though we try to keep dues low as equipment and season passes are expenses on their own, this can be very difficult. Please consider making a gift so we can continue to have successful ski seasons!
